Maastricht City Library

With over 250,000 books, magazines and multimedia resources, the Maastricht City Library is a true paradise for book lovers, whether you’re looking for classic literature, thrilling novels, scholarly publications or children’s books. But the Library is so much more than just books!

Cultural meeting place

It is also a hub where people come together to learn, create and share. The Library regularly organises fascinating lectures, educational workshops and courses, incredible exhibitions and other fun cultural events. You are of course also welcome to visit the Library just to read, study, or use the computers provided.

Warehouse collection

Part of the Maastricht City Library’s warehouse collection is available for viewing by appointment only. These titles may be found in the catalogue under the designation ‘By appointment only’. Proof of valid membership to the Library is required to view them. Submit your request via publieksservice@maastricht.nl or call +31 (0)43-350 56 00. A supervisor will contact you to schedule an appointment.

Branches

The City Library has been located at Centre Céramique since 1999. There are also library service points in the Heer and Malpertuis neighbourhoods and 11 libraries in schools (two of which are mini libraries) as well as a Boek-aan-Huis (home delivery) service.
