When you use this Centre Céramique website, it is possible that your personal data will be processed. This only happens when you use our services and/or because you have provided us with this data.

Personal data and purpose of processing

In order to keep you informed through our newsletters, we ask you to provide your email address, and your first name and surname. This information is used exclusively for our newsletters.

If you use our services, the information you supply us with will only be used to provide you with the best possible service.

Centre Céramique uses the personal data you provide for the following purposes:

  • creating and maintaining your account and the ability to borrow books;
  • the organisation of an event;
  • conducting and/or processing transactions (payments);
  • conducting customer satisfaction surveys;
  • to provide you with targeted news (only if you have actively subscribed to this);
  • analysing your data on our website to provide you and our customers with better service.
Legal basis

We only process your personal data when we have a legal basis for doing so. The legal bases are: consent, agreement, legal obligation, vital interest and tasks governed by public law.

Maastricht Museum takes appropriate measures to prevent abuse, loss, unauthorised access and other unwanted activities involving personal data.

Sharing with third parties

Centre Céramique will only supply your information processed through this website to third parties if necessary to comply with a legal obligation or for the fulfilment of an agreement entered into with you.

Your rights

Cookies are used for functionalities on the website and greater ease-of-use for you as a customer.

We instal analytical cookies from Google Analytics and use this information to better tailor the website to the needs of visitors. No personal data is stored.

A processor agreement has been concluded with Google. Your information will not be shared with other parties. The last octet of your IP address is masked. No other Google services are used in combination with Google Analytics.

You can opt out of cookies by setting your Internet browser to stop storing cookies. You can also delete any information previously stored via the browser’s settings.

Our website contains links to other websites. You can also access social media such as Facebook and YouTube through our site. National digital services

As a member of Centre Céramique/Maastricht City Library, you have access to several additional national services that fall under the Royal Library’s responsibility. For example, you can borrow e-books via the website www.onlinebibliotheek.nl. Specific services offered by the Royal Library may also be found on the website www.bibliotheek.nl In order to use these services, you must create an account on the website(s) for the relevant services.

We exchange a limited set of personal data with the Royal Library in advance to enable the Royal Library to recognise you as a library member. When you create an account for this service(s), you are giving your permission to provide your Centre Céramique/Maastricht City Library membership data to the Royal Library. The Royal Library then links this data to this new account. It processes this data in accordance with its own privacy statement: https://www.onlinebibliotheek.nl/klantenservice/privacy-policy.html.

If you use services via www.onlinebibliotheek.nland/or www.bibliotheek.nl, you can contact the Royal Library directly about your rights as a data subject.

If you are unable to arrive at a satisfactory solution through your contact with us, you also have the right to file a complaint with the privacy regulator, the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Regulations and terms of use

The Centre Céramique regulations are available here to consult or download. You may submit a request to customer service to inspect the regulations. Several conditions also apply to the use of our public network and computer workstations:

1. Centre Céramique is not liable for any damage suffered by the user as a result of the use of the public network in general and the use of a public workstation in particular.

2. Centre Céramique is not liable for any abuse of the personal data of the users of the public network resulting from improper use. Users must always log out when leaving the workstation. The new user must find a clean workspace without any signs of use.

3. Visiting offensive websites is prohibited at public workstations.

4. The use of USB storage media is permitted. Not all USB storage devices are suitable for use with the public workstations. Centre Céramique is not responsible for the proper operation of USB storage devices belonging to users. The suitability of a USB storage medium can be determined by the user through experimentation.

5. A public workstation may only be locked for a maximum of 15 minutes. Centre Céramique is entitled to remove the lock if this time limit is exceeded. The public workstation will then be restarted and all user data will be deleted.
